Make A Wish
– 2006 Walk For Wishes:
“Team Ashleigh” (team captain Ashleigh’s Aunt
Angie) was the top fundraiser for West Michigan
raising $5,175.00. Everyone’s contribution and involvement
with the walk enabled one additional special child
to receive a wish. Ashleigh’s Make a Wish was a
magical time at Disney World in November 2005. To
find out more how you can help make wishes come
true visit:

Lunch For Life
– The Giving Tree
Through ornament donations made to Ashleigh’s
virtual giving tree in 2005/2006, $2,227.00 was
contributed to the Lunch for Life/CNCF organization
aiding to fund scientific research on Neuroblastoma.
Ashleigh’s giving tree is still active for 2006/2007.

Devos Children’s
Hospital
With funds raised from a fashion show benefit
in April 2006 for Ashleigh and her friend Anna Organek,
over 1000.00$ of toys were donated to the pediatric
hematology/oncology unit at Devos Children’s Hospital.
Ashleigh’s sweet friend Anna picked out all the
toys to be given for all the children, in memory
of Ashleigh and in honor of Anna. For more information
on how you can help, visit the Pediatric Oncology
Resource Team (PORT) website:

Children’s Neuroblastoma
Cancer Foundation
Ashleigh has 4 local friends who were also diagnosed
with Neuroblastoma within a year of Ashleigh’s diagnosis.
Her dear friend Molly Cavera was diagnosed 3 months
before Ashleigh. Her parents organized a Bounce
Party fundraising event to generate more awareness
of Neuroblastoma in March 2005 in honor of all the
girls, raising about 3000.00$ for the Children’s
Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation. A wonderful article
“Families Unite to battle cancer, raise research
funds” was written in the local paper.
Read on for
the details. For more information on how
you can help make a difference, visit The Children’s
Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation (CNCF) website:

Equest Center
for Therapeutic Riding
Ashleigh had a wish…to ride a horse. Through
the kindness and generosity of the staff at The
Equest Center, Ashleigh’s wish came true and she
made a friend forever with “Freckles” the horse.
When Ashleigh got too sick for a return visit to
Freckles, he made a visit to Ashleigh, right in
her house. A wonderful article was written about
Ashleigh and Freckles in the Equest Center’s 2006
annual
newsletter. For more information on the
Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding visit:
